Patient Education
Your nurse will meet with you before starting treatment, and regularly to help you understand each step of your treatment course. A nurse will always be available to answer your or your family’s questions.
Coordination of Care
Our nursing staff coordinates your care with your other physicians' offices and work hard to make your treatment course run smoothly. They help avoid duplication of services. If you have a test done at your other physician’s office, inform your nurse so that we may obtain copies for our records. Nurses schedule any tests ordered by your Radiation Oncologist, and coordinate them with your daily treatment schedule such that any inconvenience to you is minimized.
Side Effects
This is a common concern, and one that may cause unnecessary anxiety. Your Radiation Oncologist develops a unique treatment plan for every patient. At Cancer Care Centers of Brevard, we use up-to-date equipment and state-of-the art techniques to minimize radiation exposure. Many patients to return to work or play immediately after their daily treatment. Your doctor will discuss any side effects, if any, that may be expected. |
